A new scheme is being launched to boost workplace safety, offering incentives to staff and employers.
Michael C Fina, a reward and recognition company, has created the new Safety Recognition programme to encourage people to make workplaces safe and reduce claims on employers liability insurance.
Businesses who show they have complied with health and safety training can receive a reward from the firm, ranging from leisure and household goods to ornamental items.
Sheila Sheldon, director of European operations for Michael C Fina, says the scheme "establishes a culture in which employees themselves help promote safety procedures while on the job, but will also cut the associated costs when health and safety standards are not met".
A system from Michael C Fina can be integrated into the company's human resources department, allowing them to track usage and participation.
It follows recent efforts from the Health and Safety Executive to make construction sites safer across the UK.
