A firm is launching an employee reward scheme to increase health and safety awareness in businesses.
Michael C Fina's Safety Recognition programme offers recognition and non-cash rewards to employees who have completed heath and safety training objectives.
Aimed primarily at the transportation, manufacturing, healthcare and construction sectors, the initiative could be used by any company which wants to improve its performance as health and safety in the workplace becomes more regulated.
Sheila Sheldon, director of European operations at Michael C Fina, said rewarding workers' performance in this area can help to establish a good working culture.
Ms Sheldon added: "Reward and recognition is a proven method of re-enforcing safety lessons and ensuring that they remain a primary concern for all staff.”
Recently, Dr Wolfgang Seidl, executive director of the Validium Group, told Occupational Health magazine that employee benefits such as wellbeing programmes can be used to reduce stress among a company's workforce.
